PIPER

Piper is a 1-year-old, 32lb hound mix with the sweetest soul and the most tender heart. This gentle girl is looking for a patient and understanding forever family who can help her continue to build confidence and discover that the world isn’t such a scary place after all.

Piper can be shy and nervous in new situations, so she’ll thrive in a calm, stable home with people who have experience with timid dogs and are willing to invest the time and love to help her blossom. She absolutely lights up around other dogs, especially confident, well-balanced ones who can show her the ropes—so a canine companion is high on her wish list!

Within a few days of being in her foster home with confident canine pals, Piper really started to show her wonderful little personality. Once she’s comfortable, her goofy and affectionate side comes out—she’s sweet, snuggly, and full of personality. She has bursts of zoomies but she is generally pretty calm. She is wonderful at playing independently but also loves to rough house with the dogs when they show her its play time.

While she’d certainly enjoy a backyard to sniff and explore, Piper loves her walks and would be just as happy with a committed walking routine. She also loves car rides - she will hop right in, ready to be your sidekick.

Piper is very treat motivated and picks up on new things very quickly - she knows sit, down, working on "shake". She's potty trained and does quite well in her crate - she whines for a few minutes and then settles down. With continued training and confidence building, she is going to be the most perfect dog.
