SHANE HOLLANDER

Shane is a 4-year-old, 16lb Shih Tzu mix who has truly mastered the art of relaxed living. Shane is a low-key best friend who is happiest lounging nearby, often seen with his neck hanging off the dog bed (love a dog with funny quirks). He enjoys the occasional stroll and will happily play with other dogs (he prefers dogs around his size), but his favorite hobby is stretching out in a cozy bed and supervising the day’s activities with quiet dignity.

This gentle little gentleman is wonderfully friendly with people and enjoys lap time when invited, yet he is also perfectly content snoozing on his own. He gets along well with other dogs (setting proper boundaries when needed) and is completely indifferent to cats (he currently lives with four feline foster siblings and couldn’t care less). Shane is house trained, crate trained, and trustworthy when left free-roaming at home. He sleeps peacefully through the night, either in his own bed or curled up at your feet if you invite him.

Shane rides nicely in the car, walks well on leash, and has no known fears or separation anxiety. His ideal home is a calm household looking for a loyal, easygoing companion. He is the kind of dog who doesn’t need daily adventures to be happy, just a soft spot to nap and someone to love. A daily jaunt around the neighborhood is just what the doctor ordered.

If your dream dog is friendly, gentle, quiet, and proudly “couch potato chic,” Shane Hollander is ready to move right in and make himself at home.

*Medical: Shane does have chronic allergies. His adopter will need to keep him up to date on allergy injections (he has received cytopoint injections in our care) and/or thoroughly research various holistic options to treat allergies. He also receives 1/2 tablet of Benadryl twice a day.

*PLEASE NOTE: all of our dogs are fostered in Houston, TX, where our rescue is based. Once an adopter is confirmed, we work with our trusted transport partners and adopters to find a time and pickup place that works for everyone!
